MEETING LOCATION

  • We'll teach you the fundamentals of being an umpire.
  • Our training sessions focus on current National Federation High School Baseball rules and mechanics training using the current Texas Association of Sports Officials Umpire Manual.
  • We lay the foundation for umpires to build upon through classroom and on-field mechanics training.

TRAINING SCHEDULE

The vision of the Wichita Falls Umpires Association is to foster and promote local, state, and national sports competition in the game of baseball, while:

  • Advancing the ideas of good sportsmanship and fair play through officiating in baseball, and respect of baseball officials at all levels of competition. 
  • Providing educational training of high school baseball rules and field mechanics to advance the skills of baseball officials at all levels of high school competition. 
  • Conducting umpire evaluations to identify umpire problems and using positive mentoring and coaching to train on those areas identified. 
  • Developing and maintaining a membership consisting of experienced and capable baseball umpires whose integrity is above reproach and who are actively engaged each year in officiating games. 
  • Fostering a high standard of ethics, encouraging fair play and sportsmanship and promoting closer cooperation and better understanding among officials, athletic representatives, coaches, players, and the press.
